I have done short family rides to twenty five mile rides with lots of hills on this thing. It's solid and so much fun to ride. I average 60 miles a week on this bike and have had zero issues. Great bike.

    Comments:

I have a full-suspension, lightweight beast for a mountain bike. And I have a carbon fiber road bike. I love each of them. But I'd forgotten that riding a bike can be fun, low pressure and relaxed. The Townie is a great bike, whether it's your only ride, or the third. The wheels are decent quality, 7 gears does well for city trips, and the long wheelbase makes for a smooth ride.I've taken mine out wearing flip-flops, a ball cap and cargo shorts. I hadn't done that in at least 10 years! These can be customized w fenders, groovy headlamps, a keg cup holder (and baskets for the handlebars if that's what you wanna do).Take it on your next bar crawl, or to your evening softball game, a festival, whatevs.
